COMMISSARY

“Prisons only feed you enough to keep you alive, not full.”

—Weldon Angelos

Thank you to our program sponsors:

MISSION [GREEN] is here to support those who are still needlessly suffering and that’s where the Hand Up program steps in. With the help of our generous sponsors and contributors, we are providing commissary financial assistance to those in prison. The program is ongoing and will provide people with much-needed basic care items like food and hygiene products.

Sending commissary money helps make sure they can purchase items such as hygiene items (typically only soap, toothpaste, and a limited number of stamps are provided for indigent inmates). Prison food is notoriously meager and unpalatable. Soups, cheese, and peanut butter provide much-needed sustenance and protein that is lacking in their meals.

Helping an inmate to feel more supported and less isolated, the program can also offer more benefits to inmates within the prison walls — such as signaling to other inmates and staff that there is someone on the outside that cares for them and is fighting for their release

NEED A HAND UP?

We want to support as many cannabis related offenders as we can and need your help finding them. If you or someone you know could use a Hand Up please click below to provide us with the appropriate information.

If you’d like to help, please donate to MISSION [GREEN] to ensure we can continue advocating for the release of individuals serving time for cannabis offenses and help create pathways to pardons or expungement.
